Frequently Asked Questions
- How long do you need to set up?
Normally we require an hour to set up. We know that sometimes if the dinner and dancing are in the same room, set up can only take place after dinner. In these instances we will try to set up more quickly so that the dancing can begin as soon as possible.
- Can you add musicians to the band?
We work with a variety of different musicians such as guitarists, accordionists, singers and keyboard players who we can bring in to add to our sound. Just contact us with your requirements.
- Where have you played before?
We have played at many venues across Scotland. These include: Marriott Glasgow, Radisson Glasgow, Balbirnie House Hotel, Lochside House Hotel, Seamill Hydro, National Piping Centre, Greenock Town Hall, House For An Art Lover, The Hub Edinburgh, Keavil House Hotel, The Buchanan Arms Hotel, The Barony Glasgow, Sherbrooke Castle Hotel, Roman Camp Hotel, Bute Hall Glasgow University.
- Can we use your microphones for speeches or announcements?
Of course! If you need us to be set up earlier in the evening for speeches we are happy to do so.
- What if we want to change something on the night?
Whether it’s changing the amount of ceilidh dancing and disco music or working our break time around a buffet, we are happy to make any adjustments we can on the night.
- How long do you play for?
A normal evening runs from 8pm to midnight with a 30 minute break in the middle. However, we are flexible and can work to whatever times suit you.
- What ceilidh dances do you play?
We play a wide variety of dances ranging from crowd favourites such as the Gay Gordons and Strip the Willow to the less well-known but equally fun Oxo Reel and Flying Scotsman. For a full list of ceilidh dances go to our ‘About’ page.
- Do you talk the dances through?
We can call all the dances, allowing even complete ceilidh newcomers a chance to get up on the dancefloor and enjoy themselves.
- What songs do you play for the disco?
Check out our Disco page for some examples of what we can play. We’re happy to tailor our disco to your tastes, so if you have specific songs you would like to hear just let us know.
- How much space do you require?
Ideally we need approximately 6 feet by 12 feet for a three piece band, but we can usually fit into whatever space is available.
